About Australian Diabetes Educators Association.
The Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) is the national peak body representing health care professionals in diabetes education, management and care. We are also the regulatory body for Credentialled Diabetes Educators (CDEs).
We exist to support, promote and empower our members and to lead and advocate for best practice, person-centred diabetes education and care.
We are currently looking for a Professional Services and Education Manager to join our Canberra based team. This vital role will see you driving the Member Services and Education Teams to effectively engage with our members and attract new members to the organisation.

About the Opportunity:
As the Professional Services and Education Manager you will oversee both the Member Services team and the Education team and be a pivotal leader in driving engagement with potential and existing members. Your key responsibilities in the role will include (but not be limited to):
- Support: Setting the strategy for education services and member services, including membership retention and growth;
- Leadership: Provide leadership for, and management of, member and education services;
- Advocacy: Working with our Policy, Advocacy and Communications team to ensure members’ professional interests are effectively presented to governmental agencies and other organisations;
- Stakeholder engagement: Engaging effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to raise the profile of CDEs and ADEA services, and improve outcomes for people with diabetes;
- Development: Working closely with other senior managers to ensure our services and resources are innovative, contemporary and evidence-based; and
- Risk Management: Ensuring our risks are managed and mitigated, and that we meet our governance and compliance obligations for education and member services.

About you:
Coming from a health professional background, you will be a senior manager with strong strategic development experience. You will have knowledge and understanding of education, credentialling, membership, member services and awards programs, and health policy and research.
The development of your staff will be a priority and seeing your team reach their potential and grow within their roles will be key to your success in this role.
A strong communicator, you will have demonstrated stakeholder engagement experience that will enable you to lead and deliver the education and member services strategy.
While experience in diabetes treatment and management in a clinical setting or current status as a Credentialled Diabetes Educator will be well regarded, your ability to effectively engage with these professionals will be more crucial for success in this role.
You will also bring experience in financial, compliance and risk management, ensuring that we meet all our governance and legislative requirements.
